Winter Seminar
Marsha Turner Sensei, 4th Dan
December 8-9, 2007

St. Louis Aikikai is pleased to welcome back our former mentor Marsha Turner Sensei from Chicago Aikikai.

Marsha Turner is an acknowledged authrority on the weapons forms of Saotome Sensei and we are looking forward to polishing our aiki-ken and jo with her guidance.

Cost is $20 per class or $50 for the whole weekend.

Saturday - St. Charles: 1.00 - 3.00 pm, 3.30 - 5.00 pm

Sunday - CAC: 11.00 - 1.00 pm

Fifth Annual Demonstration at the Japanese Festival
Missouri Botanical Garden

We were honoured to be lead by John Ekey Sensei and Michael Grossman Sensei in this years demonstration, in which we focussed on everyday practice with the active participation of the entire dojo.

Internal Kyu Testing

This was our second internally conducted kyu testing led by John Ekey Sensei, assisted by Michael Grossman Sensei and Cyndy Hayashi Sensei.

Fourth Annual Aikido Demonstration at the Japanese Festival 2006, Missouri Botanical Garden
September 3-4, 2006

We were honored once again to participate in the Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. This prestigous event is a three day celebration of Japanese culture held annually over the Labor Day Weekend.

We are very grateful to everyone who attended and participated in this event. We extend particular thanks to the Kirkwood Judo Club for sharing their mats with us.

Second Annual Spring Friendship Seminar
Cyndy Hayashi Sensei, 6th Dan

St. Louis Aikikai was proud to welcome back Cyndy Hayashi Sensei (6th Dan) from Aikido West in Redwood City, California.

Hayashi Sensei is the senior instructor under Frank Doran Shihan (7th Dan), one of the regular instructors at the annual Summer Camp in the Rockies.

She began training at Aikido of San Francisco in 1977, later spending a year in Japan with Morihiro Saito Sensei at the Aiki Shrine in Iwama, where she received her shodan.

Hayashi Sensei is administrator for the California Aikido Association, which last year hosted the visit of Moriteru Ueshiba, the Third Aikido Doshu, to the San Francisco Bay Area.

This event was fanastic, our thanks to Hayashi Sensei and everyone who attended!
